In a recent interview with the Times of India, India’s Home Minister, Amit Shah, expressed confidence that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership will secure an even more substantial majority in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. Shah also claimed the formation of BJP-led governments in all three Hindi-belt states.
Amit Shah is actively overseeing BJP’s election campaigns in Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh, emphasizing victory in both states and expressing assurance about Rajasthan as well. Shah remarked, “In the upcoming elections in Telangana, though a few days remain for polling, I observe an anti-Congress wave, particularly in the Hindi-belt states of Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, and Rajasthan, based on my direct observations during state visits.
Amit Shah highlighted the unpredictability of politics, stating, “In politics, 1+1 doesn’t always equal 2. We’ve been in power in Gujarat since 1995 and entered Madhya Pradesh’s governance in 2003. Yet, we consistently emerge victorious in Gujarat. What matters is not just the duration of your tenure but what you’ve done for the people during your governance.
Regarding the India Gathbandhan formed under Congress leadership before the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, Amit Shah confidently asserted, “There’s no doubt that under Narendra Modi’s leadership, the BJP will form a government with an even more significant majority in 2024. Those who unite under the opposition alliance banner are united for political self-interest. The public understands everything; people are wise nowadays.
