Like every day, the new price of petrol and diesel has been released across the country today i.e. Friday, May 17 at 6 am. Before the Lok Sabha elections 2024, the government had reduced the price of fuel by Rs 2 on March 14, 2024. However, since then there has been no change at the national level.

The price of petrol and diesel is different in every city
Fuel prices vary in different cities due to different taxes. Nationally, fuel rates vary across cities. The reason behind this is the imposition of different taxes by the state government. Whereas, in cities, apart from the state government, local tax is also levied due to which the price changes are seen.
How to check new fuel rates?
You can know the price of petrol and diesel through the official website of Indian Oil. You can also check fuel rates through SMS. Message RSP and pin code of your city to Indian Oil number 9224992249. If you are a BPCL customer then message RSP and PIN code of your city on number 9223112222. HPCL customers will have to SMS HPPrice and the pin code of their city to the number 9222201122.
