In the year 2025, Kia is set to make its mark in the pickup truck segment with the introduction of the Tasman. This new pickup truck marks Kia’s global debut in this segment, with plans to launch it in markets across Korea, Australia, Africa, and the Middle East.

Kia’s Powerful Pickup Truck: Reports Suggest

Kia’s first pickup truck may feature a 2-liter, 4-cylinder turbo-diesel engine. Additionally, the company may offer an 8-speed torque converter automatic transmission with this truck. It could be available with options for all-wheel drive or 4×4 off-road capabilities. Kia may also introduce a V6 powertrain in the future, further enhancing the performance of this truck. However, the company has not yet disclosed extensive details about the truck.

Competing with Industry Giants: Kia Tasman

With the debut of the Kia Tasman in the pickup truck segment, Kia is poised to compete with several established players. The likes of Ford Ranger, Hyundai Santa Cruz, and Volkswagen Amarok could face competition from the Kia Tasman. Recently, Kia conducted testing of its pickup truck on the roads of Australia. While Kia’s pickup truck may not be hitting the Indian market soon, the company is gearing up to introduce its new SUV. Kia is preparing to launch its new SUV, the Clavis, in the Indian market by the end of 2024 or the beginning of 2025. Furthermore, Kia has also announced the launch of its three-row electric SUV, the EV9, in 2024, catering to the Indian market’s growing demand for electric vehicles.
