Breaking Down India's Inclusive Budget: A Game-Changer for the Poor, Women, Youth, and Farmers

Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman presented the interim budget today, February 1st. This elicited a response from Madhya Pradesh’s Chief Minister, Mohan Yadav, who commended the budget for its comprehensive focus on various sectors, including the welfare of the poor, women, youth, and farmers. Yadav acknowledged that the budget aligns with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s continuous efforts to propel the nation forward on the path of progress. The budget presented today is inclusive and far-reaching, addressing the needs of all segments of society.

Inclusivity in Budgetary Measures

The budget’s emphasis on addressing the concerns of the poor, women, youth, and farmers has led to significant strides in development and welfare initiatives, lifting 25 crore people above the poverty line—a commendable achievement. Under Prime Minister Modi’s leadership, India has undergone a transformative change, becoming the world’s fourth-largest economy. In the coming years, we aim to realize Prime Minister Modi’s vision, propelling India to become the world’s third-largest economy by the auspicious year 2047, marking the completion of 100 years of independence.

Chief Minister Yadav’s Remarks on the Central Budget

During his journey in Muraina, Chief Minister Dr. Yadav expressed his views on the central budget. The vision of Digital India will play a pivotal role in advancing the country. Yadav lauded the commitment to providing housing to two crore people, aligning with Prime Minister Modi’s pledge to ensure every household has a solid roof over their heads. The newly introduced housing scheme for the middle class is also a notable achievement. The budget allocates provisions for Anganwadi and ASHA workers to benefit from the Ayushman Yojana, a long-awaited measure for the welfare of impoverished families.

Thrusting India into the Digital Era

Initiatives undertaken to encourage Digital India and reforms implemented through the Digital India platform will propel India forward. Central Finance Minister’s felicitation of financial incentives to promote cervical cancer vaccination for girls aged nine to fourteen is a commendable step towards ensuring a healthy future for our youth. The upcoming plan to install roof-top solar plants in one crore homes, providing a saving of 300-300 units of electricity, marks a revolutionary step in energy conservation, benefiting us all.

Tourism Potential in Madhya Pradesh

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav highlighted the immense potential for tourism in Madhya Pradesh. The decision to provide interest-free loans of ₹75,000 crore in the tourism sector is expected to catalyze comprehensive development in tourism. The construction and expansion of airports on 517 new routes under the Udaan scheme will progress air travel in Madhya Pradesh, bringing it on par with other states. Yadav affirmed the state’s commitment to becoming the number one destination in the country.
