The highly anticipated new Renault Duster is set to debut in the global market on November 29, 2023. To get a glimpse of what this new SUV offers, let’s delve into the details revealed in patent images.

New Renault Duster Design Insights

Patent images unveil that the new Duster is based on the bigger sibling, the Concept 4.6 meters long and a 3-row SUV. However, it exudes a more compact appearance, with a sleeker profile. The production model SUV features a high bonnet line, distinctive Y-shaped headlamps, and a slim grille that seamlessly integrates both headlamps into one unit. Below, a pronounced bull-bar-shaped bumper with dual vertical air vents on both sides adds to its appeal.

The new Duster shares a profile with the bigger model, showcasing square wheel arches, roof rails, and a rear spoiler. Notably, the company has added a tapering rear quarter glass design, complementing the original Duster’s look. In a stylish touch, the ‘B’ and ‘C’ pillars are highlighted in black color, creating a striking shadow line beneath the mirrors. The patent images also reveal the presence of stylish ten-spoke alloy wheels, which might be offered in the top variant. Furthermore, the rear door cladding may sport a unique design element. The V-shaped taillights at the back add an exceptional and distinctive look, removing the previous rear hunches.

Three Engine Options to Choose From

The 3rd-generation Duster’s global models will offer three new engine choices. These include an entry-level 120hp 1.0-liter turbo-petrol engine, a 140hp 1.2-liter petrol hybrid, and a 170hp 1.3-liter turbo-petrol engine. With the 170hp engine, the Duster is expected to be the most powerful version to date. Renault India has revealed its intention to provide a robust hybrid and plug-in hybrid system to offer mileage akin to diesel engines, as diesel options will no longer be available.

Next-Generation Duster Launch in India

The next-generation Duster may launch in India by 2025, entering the highly competitive 5-seater midsize SUV segment. After its launch, it will compete with the likes of the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Volkswagen Taigun, Skoda Kushaq, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, and Toyota Urban Cruiser HyRider.
