Mahindra XUV700 Petrol to Get Automatic Gearbox in Entry-Level MX Variant

Mahindra’s latest offering, the XUV700, has been making waves in the Indian automotive market. With its sleek design, powerful performance, and advanced features, the XUV700 has garnered attention from car enthusiasts across the country. Now, with the recent announcement from ARAI regarding type approval certificates, Mahindra is set to introduce an automatic gearbox variant in the entry-level MX trim of the XUV700 petrol model.

The Latest Updates

According to the newly issued type approval certificate by ARAI, the Mahindra XUV700 petrol variant will soon be available with an automatic gearbox in its entry-level MX variant. While the current MX trim is offered with both petrol and diesel engine options with manual transmission, the automatic gearbox is currently exclusive to the AX3, AX5, and AX7 variants of the XUV700. Enthusiasts can expect the arrival of this 5-seater SUV trim in the coming weeks.

Pricing Insights

Considering the significant price difference of approximately 1.8 lakh rupees between the petrol-AT model and its manual counterparts, it is anticipated that the price of the MX AT trim will be around 15.80 lakh rupees. Currently, the showroom price of the XUV700 MX petrol is 13.99 lakh rupees. Those interested in purchasing the petrol-AT variant can save nearly 2.4 lakh rupees, as the showroom price of the petrol-AT AX3 trim is 18.19 lakh rupees.

Features Overview

The base-spec XUV700 comes equipped with an 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto, four speakers, a 7.0-inch instrument cluster, tilt-adjustable steering, front center armrest, power windows, power-adjustable wing mirrors, follow-me-home headlights, and ISOFIX anchors. Setting it apart from higher variants, it features 17-inch steel rims with 235/65 R17 tires. However, it lacks some features available with the AX3 trim, such as an 8.0-inch digital driver display, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, two additional speakers, LED DRLs, a rear-seat armrest, and 60:40 split-folding rear seats.
