According to sources, Congress will contest on approximately 19 seats in the state. Negotiations have been underway with various allies, and it is likely that Shiv Sena (UBTI) will contest on 23 seats while Sharad Pawar’s NCP faction will field candidates on six seats. Maharashtra has 48 Lok Sabha seats, the second-highest after Uttar Pradesh (80 seats).
