Lok Sabha Election 2024: BJP has made Uttar Pradesh government minister Dinesh Pratap Singh its candidate from Rae Bareli Lok Sabha seat, which is considered a Congress stronghold. Dinesh Pratap Singh, who started his political career as a block chief, is currently the Minister of State with Independent Charge in the Yogi Adityanath government. He started his political career from Samajwadi Party in 2004.
Started political journey from SP

Have contested elections against Sonia Gandhi in 2019
Dinesh Pratap Singh joined BJP in 2019 and contested against Sonia Gandhi in the Lok Sabha elections. Although he did not win from here, he attracted everyone’s attention by securing around four lakh votes.
Rae Bareli is no longer a Congress stronghold: Dinesh Pratap
After getting the ticket, Dinesh Pratap Singh said, “BJP has trusted a small worker like me and for this I thank the party. I promise that I will not let this trust be lost.” He further said that Rae Bareli might have once been a stronghold of Congress, but since Modi ji has taken charge of the country, I can say that not a single village head of Congress has been able to win even the District Panchayat elections in Rae Bareli. Now Rae Bareli is a stronghold of BJP.”
